Bailee and Karsyn were both selected to be in the Wyoming Children's Honor Choir. This year Cody was hosting the event and it turned out to be our last weekend in Cody...so it was bittersweet:( The girls practiced before/after school for months and the week after school got out for 2 hours a day. The weekend of the concert, they have rehearsal all day long. All of the individual choirs from around the state learn the music and practice ..practice...practice and then they come together that weekend and work with the conductor who "fine tunes" each piece. Bailee was also in another select group that sang 6 additional numbers. [She's 2nd row diagonally right of the piano:]
Then they sang 7 numbers together. It was difficult to get a good group picture. If we zoomed too close, we lost most of them. [Bay is about the same spot but 3rd row and Kars is far right 2nd row 1st one in]
The guest conductor was Marianna Parnas-Simpson who is originally from Russia. She now lives in Houston and is the director of the Parker Elementary Chorus as well as founding member of the Houston Chamber Choir. The girls LOVED her ....
Mason, his mom, and sister came to watch the concert and support Karsyn [and Bailee;]
I hope these two recognize what an honor it is to participate in an event such as this...what a great opportunity!! I am so glad they got to share another special memory together.
