{Halloween was out of this world}

Some snippets of our Halloween this year. Our traditional Spooky Dinner wasn't anything fancy, but it happened and that counts for a lot this year .... Spider Guts (shredded BBQ Chicken), Pumpkin Vomit (Guacamole) and Jack O Lantern Floats (orange Fanta with ice cream)
Carving pumpkins from our garden

All lit up!
Mark, Kim, Kars, Emm
There was celebrating at school
Especially in 4th grade;)
love that we have parents just hanging out in the back
Popcorn Bar!!
Evening was spent getting ready for Trick or Treating. This was the first year in 20 that we didn't do some sort of Downtown/Community Trick or Treat .... very strange feeling. The weather was kinda yucky on Halloween, so Emmrey wasn't super anxious to go downtown (+ she's getting a little past the age that it is designed for). We planned for a big crowd, but the cold temps let us down. We didn't get nearly as many as we have before. Why can't we live somewhere that feels like fall on Halloween?
We gave it another go with the group costume. We went with an Alien theme this year. Fun no matter what your age.
Even Kars was willing to join in the fun this year. She went around the neighborhoods with Emmrey, and they met up with Taeson for a little while.
Mark and I mostly answered the door. He did a better job than me since I was avoiding having certain kids from school figure out where I live.
Bay got into the spirit too with her fellow RA's.
Makell, Saverio, Bay
They helped with Safe Treat for little ones on campus.
And there was a little bit of negotiating between those who got their bucket filled and those who did not.

Senior Photo Shoot

Kars shares some traits with me. She has great ideas ... big plans .... but is also a bit of a procrastinator. The deadline to submit senior pictures was approaching and although she knew what she wanted, she wasn't getting herself to worked up about getting it done ;) Luckily we didn't have to schedule anything since we planned to take them ourselves.

Kars had an overall vision of the setting she wanted. Near our house is some property that is part of the North Poudre Irrigation Company. The wind was not helpful and the mosquitoes were a nightmare!!
smiling through the bites
Kars has a knack for making stressful situations less tense with her humor {MOST of the time}. She was a pretty good sport about the less than ideal circumstances.

Emm was the assistant .... responsible for carrying (wearing)  Karsyn's wardrobe changes.
We got some really great photos of her.
There is no way I could pick one for the yearbook, so I am glad that was her job.
 Such a gorgeous girl❤️
One more thing to remind us that this is officially her last year of high school.

Tennis~LOVE

Emm decided to go out for the Tennis team this year. She has taken some "learn to play" classes with the rec department and was anxious to get more time on the court.
It was so much fun watching her play and trying to figure out all the rules. I still don't have it figured out. I took a few classes as a teen and Mark and I used to play tennis all the time for fun ... I miss that.
Not a championship team, but she had a lot of fun and I hope she gets to do it again next year.
I feel like Tennis suits her:)
