EXTRA EXTRA!! .... get your Halloween update here

This year for Halloween we went with a Newsies theme.... but before that I was Waldo at school with several other staff members.
me with my friend Aida who I try to learn Spanish from
Not everyone got on board, but there was enough to make it fun for the kids to look for us all day

So, back to the Newsies ...... We saw the musical this summer in West Yellowstone and as we were watching I thought... "huh... that's a fun idea for a costume".
Emm took on downtown for the annual Trick or Treat and ran into her friend Izabella.
What originally was going to be a group of 5 Newsies, turned out to be just 3.
Mark is a good sport, but I think he would prefer to not dress up.
Emmrey really wanted to make a dummy for our porch, so we quick whipped up this guy to sit in our swing.

Kars didn't want to dress up:( but met some of her friends in the area and they took Emmrey and Raigan around our neighborhoods.
Logan, Taeson, Kennedy, Raigan, Kars, Emm
I offered the Newsie idea to Bay, but she wasn't even sure if she would be dressing up. Of course she did and she pulled together a nearly last minute Rosie the Riveter costume.
She sent me this of her and a few other RA's. They helped with Safe Treat, a program where kids can Trick or Treat through Washakie. Her dorm brought back Spooky Hall for fellow residents which has been dormant for the past several years. Both were a huge hit!!
...and that's the headlines! Except for the day after candy sort ... that's the most important story!

Pumpkin Carving and Mystery Dinner 18'

The last weekend of October we got busy carving pumpkins from our garden. Emmrey sold quite a few {that survived the hail}, but we still had about a dozen on our porch.
We all had a job to do!
I hadn't gotten around to planning our Halloween dinner and so Emmrey asked if she could take that on. So after carving we had a Mystery Dinner. She planned the whole thing by herself.
Her menu was complete with blood, boogers, puss and eyeballs. I was so proud of her!
When it got dark enough we lit up the porch with our jack-o-lanterns🎃
