Mountain Kids

Bailee is teaching swim lessons this summer at Mountain Kids. It's a cute little facility in Fort Collins that offers camps, preschool, gymnastics, and dance in addition to swimming in the summer.

Her shift is from 12:30- 7 pm. She guards and helps with day camp swimmers most of the afternoon, and then teaches leveled classes in the evening. It has been a positive experience for her overall, with the exception of a few classes that have been extra challenging. She always has great stories to tell us about the kids she works with. Like the little guy that shouted .. "talk about homicide!" after she gave instructions on the distance/stroke they would be swimming;0 

The one draw back of an outdoor pool is the potential for class cancellation due to weather. We get frequent afternoon thunderstorms during parts of summer and there have been a few times she has had to go in for a make up lesson. Kars tagged along with her on a Friday evening and got her in action with a couple of her students. Classes are M-Th so adding a Friday night make up is not super appealing to a lot of parents.

When we discovered Bailee would be teaching at Mountain Kids, we jumped on the chance to have Emmrey take lessons there {the outdoor pool was a factor too}. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for her lessons to be at the same time Bailee taught, but it overlapped a little with her shift so we got to see Bay everyday at the pool for a little bit. Originally her class was a nice small group of 5 but after the first day, she got moved up a level so it was just her and one other girl which was fabulous!

We got behind in lessons with our back to back summers of moving so I was happy to see her make great strides with her skills. She really liked Miss Maggie as her teacher.

She basically passed two levels in one. She was pretty proud of herself:)
