Cali~Day 1

After New Years we prepped ourselves to enjoy our trip to California. 

We left early January 4th for a week in the sun.

 We made it to Denver before the storm rolled in. These girls were super stoked about flying! Had it not been so early, their enthusiasm may have been more obvious. It was precisely at this moment that Mark and I realized that neither one of us had the "real camera". We must have left in a fog because that is so unlike us. Major bummer .... it would be a trip of pictures with (crappy) phone cameras:(((

Our flight left almost an hour later than it was scheduled due to the weather. 

We did have a good show of the deicing process before taking off.

 Emm was my traveling buddy. She was pretty nervous about the whole flying thing. Truth be told, it freaks me out a bit too so it was nice to have a hand to hold;) 

The threesome sat a few rows away from us. Unlike Emmrey who wasn't all that interested in having the window seat, Kars was taking it all in.

We were soon out of the cold and onto warmer skies.

The girls were a little more alert when we landed in Orange County

 We picked up our rental car and had some time to kill before we could check in at the hotel so we stopped for a stroll along Laguna Beach

It wasn't exactly warm but much nicer than what we had left behind

Once we got settled at the hotel we let Emmrey swim for a while before getting dinner. We discovered that the place we were staying puts on a dinner buffet for their guests certain nights and we figured we'd give it a try. It was pretty darn good. Yummy salad bar, soup, brats, and other side dishes. It was nice to just stay in and relax after a day of travel.

We quickly adjusted to our new view!
