CHOCOLATE

Last year we bought a membership to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. After we returned from our Canyonlands trip, we had a couple of days before break was over. We decide to take the girls to the museum to see the Chocolate exhibit.

We learned all about chocolate from the roots of the cacao tree to the global distribution.
It was interesting to see how chocolate has evolved. They had displays of chocolate making tools/molds ....

.. as well as vintage chocolate packaging .. .. .. I loved that!
It was a pretty fun afternoon and exciting when we were wrapping up our time and the fire alarm went off. Interestingly enough, I had commented earlier to Mark how awful it would be trying to get out of this place in an emergency with all the people. When the alarm went off there was not any urgency. In fact, people weren't really trying to exit. Nobody really knew what to do and the museum wasn't taking any action to get people out. We got the impression it was not a true emergency but rather a false alarm. We were leaving soon anyway so I pushed for us to go ahead and exit ...just to be safe. Several Fire Trucks were pulling up, although nobody seemed in a huge hurry. Pretty sure it wasn't serious but it added a bit of excitement to our day!
