CMEA

The choir that Bailee sings with this year is a girls choir that meets a few times a week during lunch. They were selected by audition last year to participate in the Colorado Music Educators Association (CMEA).
She headed down to Colorado Springs on a Friday morning with her group for rehearsals
We weren't at the rehearsal but I snagged this photo from the school website;)
We drove to Colorado Springs later that afternoon when the girls got out of school. It is about a 2 hour drive from our house, but we hit Denver traffic just right and it added nearly an hour to our travels .. .. it was excruciating! When we finally arrived we tried out Jason's Deli for dinner ... a great choice complete with a help yourself ice cream machine.
While Bailee enjoyed her accommodations at the Broadmoor, we kept things a bit more modest. Our hotel did have a water slide which these two took full advantage of.
Trying to get a pic of them on the slide turned out like what you see to their left:)
The following morning we got up early and headed to the Broadmoor to watch the concert. No recording or flash photos during concert so this was all I got.
Nobody was thrilled about having to get up early that morning, but Kars is really playing it up here
Impromptu performed six songs and they were pretty extraordinary ... . some serious talent! While we waited for Bailee to find us afterward, we wandered through the lobby.
We were able to snag her for a minute between group photos and the girls going to pack up their rooms.
We haven't ordered her group photo yet, but I found this grainy version that's similar to the finished product.
While Bailee packed up and got ready to go to lunch with her group, we explored this grand place.
The Broadmoor is a 5 Star resort that opened in 1918. This massive hotel covering nearly 500 acres, is pretty spectacular
While a place like this isn't really our style, I can definitely see the appeal. It is certainly a classy place and they don't make many like it anymore.

  1. This looks like a pretty cool place to visit, too bad you all didn't get to stay there.
