Bailee has completed a pretty grueling high school swim season. I don't think any of us new exactly what to expect with a new coach and team. We realized quick that we didn't know "hardcore"...even if we thought we did. The coaches Bay had in Cody were no match for Coach Miller in that department;) She was up at 5am every morning for an hour of practice before school and then another 2+ hours after school. Swim meets were every Friday and Saturday and if school was out....too bad ...practice was held. Basically swim team was expected to be her life for two months.
Bay worked so hard and halfway through the season, her coach asked her to join the Varsity team. All of the other meets were at one of the 3 schools in Cheyenne, but Varsity traveled overnight to Gillette. She was pretty excited to go ...and a little nervous too.
When it was all over, she was more than ready to give up those morning practices, but she really did have a great season with the Lady Indians. It was truly a blessing that she hit the ground running with the swim team....it gave her a sense of belonging right away which helped with the transition.

We are so impressed with her dedication and proud of the time she cut in many of her events. Swimming is very personal for Bailee, her focus is on improving her own time and she cares vary little about where she places. There are times during the season that I wish she had a little more "killer instinct" to win, but Bay doesn't need to be first to feel good about herself. She has always been quietly self assured and does not measure her worth by her achievements....I learn from this little lady all the time. We are so proud of the girl that she is ...in or out of the water:)
