A Jolly Holiday

We've had a pretty glorious couple of weeks around here. Our break started on the 20th ... Bailee came home the day before that. We were more than half way through our 12 days of Christmas that we did for our neighbor Len.... highlight of the season for Emm.
 Possibly for him too ...
We got to work making our yearly goodies .... Cool Whip Balls, Belly Buttons, and Toffee
 This year I took another stab at my Mom's fudge recipe. It was not as firm as it should be, but tasted so good! I'll have to keep working on it.

We did a little Christmas light scavenger hunt through our town. It was super fun.

We never did find a house with Santa's sleigh on top, but came across far too many inflatable Grinch's.
 On Christmas Eve, we went on our traditional {weather permitting} hike. Bailee was the only one interested in our proposal. We went up Poudre Canyon to Picnic Rock Natural Area. At one point, ever so tiny flakes were falling, but it didn't amount to anything and we didn't get a white Christmas.
 We continued our movie marathon at home while working on our puzzle.

Made Gingerbread Houses. I love seeing the girls get creative.
 I got my hair played with for a while, which is always a plus in my book;)

After having pizza and reading some stories, we opened our Christmas PJ's and a few new board games.
 It was 11:00 by the time we got to bed. It's actually a miracle we made it that late. Mark and I were up before the girls. Emm was up at 8:00 and anxious to wake her sisters. They are good kids to humor me with these early morning pictures.
 The Santa Scene!
 Emmrey got a Hatchimals which has been on her list for the past few years. .. Santa finally caved.
Bay and Kars were happy with boots, swimsuit, beauty boxes, oil diffuser, accessories, sheets, blanket and more pajamas. Karsyn also got a new memory foam mattress and Bailee got her very own tent.
trying on some of her new pj's ... all at the same time
The girls gave us some nice gifts too ... Mark got a new UW shirt, slippers and fly tying hooks.
 I received boots ...
 a new rolling pin, and gum/Altoids {she knows me well}
 Stewy was not forgotten and I'm told he got everything on his list ... and then some.
 Both parents sent some money and we got this awesome hat, a cooler bag and chocolate {World's Finest to boot} from my parents. Each sibling received a hat similar to this. It was funny seeing all the shared pictures Christmas morning.  You can't see it but it has lights that blink on it {oh Cheryl;}
 Mark made omelettes for brunch...
And then we just spent the day lounging around and playing. Santa proclaimed it a "no electronics {screens} for gifts Christmas". Emmrey got some old school toys like Pick up Sticks, Lite Brite, and Fashion Plates.
 She also got these two fellas which she named Clark and Eddie.
 There was a whole lot of this going on ....💕
Our Christmas dinner was filled with our favorite family dishes.
 I hated for it to end. We missed being with extended family, but it's also kinda nice to chill all day and not have anywhere we have to go. It was a good one!!
 Merry Christmas to all!!
