Bounceback to Utah

Most summers we are lucky to fit in one trip to Utah.  This summer we got a second trip, and within 5 weeks from the first one:)  Mark was traveling out of town for another week (2 out of 3), and I figured that this would be the perfect time to take the girls and spend a few days with my family.  It's kinda nice that we are free from commitments and not really involved in anything right now so we can do this.  Mark left early Monday morning and the girls and I loaded up and headed out Tuesday.  On Wednesday we had lunch with Aunt Ashlee, Aunt Jami and the boys at Iceberg.....don't think I've eaten there since High School:)

Then we went back to Grampa & Gramma's and were joined by Aunt Ashlee and Aunt Leslie.  

The Pool table in the basement was a big hit this trip:)

 While the rest of us played and relaxed, Bay was busy in the kitchen.  She has been working on a Personal Progress project that has her planning and cooking a couple of meals a week.  She really wanted to stick with it this week even though we were out of town, so she made dinner for us one night.

 Cajun Chicken Pasta....it was delish!!  Everyone was so impressed with how she handled everything in the kitchen and how well it turned out.  She was juggling it all by herself (by choice) and I was so proud of her. Grampa said she could certainly get a job at Olive Garden with her cooking skills:)

Thursday Jami and I took our 6 kids to Airborne.... her 3 boys and my 3 girls ...how funny!!

This big warehouse is pretty much wall to wall trampolines as well as pits filled with foam blocks that you can flip into.

 The kids definitely got their exercise and they were sweaty and tired afterward...my girls had a blast!!

Friday, me and a few of my sisters (Lori, Kris and Jami) took our kids to a water park in Lindon.

 The main attraction was the FlowRider.  Gaige was the only one who spent much time on it...he did pretty darn good on that thing:)

 The rest of the kids spent most their time in the Lazy River.

 It was so fun to just sit in the warm sun and visit....although it got pretty toasty so you better believe we were all taking advantage of that water....even the little slides;)

It was a great way to spend the day with cousins!!

Our final night, the Morris family planned a Movie Night.  We had pizza and enjoyed watching the Sandlot under the stars when it got dark.  I love that movie and love that it was filmed in Utah.  I especially love reminding the girls that their Grampa Wayne is "kinda famous" because he used to work at Vincent Drug...the actual location of the Vincent Drug in the movie...pretty cool!!

In between all these fun activities, we spent some much needed time with Grampa and Gramma.  There was lots of building with their cool MAGFORMER sets...

 There were games assembled and played....

And there was lots of talking. These two did a little bonding over shakes, and Emm was being downright silly with Grampa:)  Speaking of shakes....my sisters (Les and Ash) did a dangerous thing by introducing me to Sonics 1/2 priced shakes after 8.  I am not a lover of Sonic food ...yuck{pregnancy sickness with Kars} but we got eight shakes for 10 bucks and I thought that was a pretty great deal.  So.... we had shakes more nights than we really should have:)

 

Sometimes you just need to "go home" and this extra little trip hit the spot.  Each time we visit I am reminded how important family is and how we need to do this more often.  Ahhh....it was just what we all needed right now and we were all so sad to leave.  Good thing we will be passing through again in a couple of weeks:)

Thank you Mom & Dad for taking such good care of us!!  So glad we got to spend some time with most of the family:)  Love you all~
