Grandpa Ralph turned 80 this year. After our big storm, we weren't sure if we would be able to get out of town for his big birthday party.
The interstate finally opened and we left for Utah early Saturday morning.
The interstate finally opened and we left for Utah early Saturday morning.
After a stop in Laramie to pick up Bay, we hit the road. We travel in style .... somewhere in the far back is Emm slouched over in a slumber.

We made it in time for a quick freshen up and then it was off to Susan's for the partay!!

It was just a family party and it was fun to see relatives we hadn't seen in a while. These two found their favorite relative to hang with.

Susan took the theme of Travel Through Time and ran with it. With the exception of food contributions, she did everything else. The games were over the top.... she must have spent hundreds on all the items she purchased for the games alone.

One of the games was correctly placing year/age with photos of Ralph. David and I tied as the winners. In all fairness, Kars was my teammate so she deserves at least half the credit (and 3/4 the prize;)
It was a houseful the entire night. Most of their siblings came and even a few nieces.
Escaping the crowds .... Emm always has fun with her cousins.
I didn't know if this would be Grandpa Ralph's kind of thing.... being the center of attention and all. He was loving every minute of it and I am pretty sure it was the highlight of his year.
The kids
The kid-in-laws {- a few that were missing for some reason}
The grandkids
The baggage claim before leaving.
It was such a fun night. We stayed way beyond the end of the party and enjoyed hanging out with Mark's siblings and parents. So glad we were able to make it. Cheers to 80 Years!!
