The end of June, we set off for our annual week in the Sunlight Basin/Yellowstone area. We made a stop in Cody for a few hours the first day so Bailee could meet up with her friend Dani who was also in Cody visiting her Dad.
While she and her friend caught up, the rest of us went to the Shoshone River and fished for a bit.
It was at the City Park where we were meeting Bailee that evening that Mark missed a call from his sister. He immediately knew something must be wrong at home because it is rare his siblings call each other for the heck of it. Within minutes we learned that his parents who were en route to see his sister in New Mexico had fallen asleep, rolled their car and were both air lifted to two separate hospitals. Our hearts sank and suddenly our vacation plans hung in the balance.
There were tears, prayers and feelings of helplessness being so far away. We were heading to the G&F cabin where we would be off the grid for several days {which is part of the appeal} but in this case that was causing Mark some angst. There is a land line there for emergencies but he wasn't thrilled about the idea of not knowing what was going on with constant updates. His sister Tanya was on her way to the hospital in Albuquerque and our niece Tifi was making the 5 hour drive to Flagstaff. After some deliberation, he decided we should head up to the cabin at least for the night and depending on what he heard about the situation in the morning we would decide what to do.

The news gave us all some peace and although Mark was still upset and spent most of the time worried about his parents, he was finally able to breath a little easier. They are both recovering and we are so so thankful that things weren't any worse and that we have them both with us still.
